A Celebration of Life

Norman’s Celebration of Life will be held on August 16th, 2025, from 12pm to 4pm.
Location
Join us at the home of Norman’s daughter, Liesl, and son-in-law, Peter, as we honor the life of a wonderful father and friend.

We will stream the event live on Norman’s Facebook page starting at 2pm.
We would be delighted to ‘see’ his Decatur friends on the livestream!
Lodging
If you will be traveling to the event and will have an overnight stay, contact Liesl for nearby lodging options around Charles Town, Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. Our area is truly beautiful, so if you can spend a little time here to enjoy what Dad loved, you won’t regret it.
Program Details
We’ll gather from 12 to 2 for food and conversation, and we’ll share stories together about our times with Norman, view photos, and more.
At 2pm, we’ll start the Livestream for his remote friends, at which time we’ll share a few words and celebrate our time with Norman.
We would be pleased if remote friends who cannot attend would send remembrances and thoughts to share during this time. (Please message Liesl).
After the Livestream, those gathered will share cake, coffee and some final time together before adjourning at 4pm.
We’ll be sure to take lots of photos in his honor! (As we all know that was his favorite pastime).
Decatur Friends…
When Dad moved from IL to WV, we knew that he would miss his friends and the sights of Decatur.
We had this picture printed for him on canvas, and had it hanging in his home when he arrived. It is comprised of his most-loved photos from the ‘Decatur Illinois – Then and Now‘ Facebook page. He loved it!
